A Bit About Me
 

Hello, I am Rachel Lee. I am a 35-year-old wife, mother, and Registered Nurse. I have been happily married for 14 years and have four beautiful children. My family and I live on a farm in Atchison County. I am a dedicated professional as well as a mother and wife.

My professional career started when I became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) about 14 years ago. I then adventured onto obtain my goal as a nurse. I worked as a CNA until I graduated with my Practical Nursing diploma in May of 2007; then passed my NCLEX exam that June. After becoming an LPN, I then started my career in a long-term care facility near my hometown. As I worked, I took my prerequisites and was accepted into the bachelor's program at the University of Saint Mary's in Leavenworth, KS. I graduated in May of 2011 and passed my boards that June. 

My first job as an RN was at Holton Community Hospital which is a critical access hospital. I was a floor nurse who worked on Medsurg, ER, OB and nursery, and outpatient infusions. I worked there for 5 years and gained an enormous amount of compassion, care, education, and skills for my career. I then decided to pursue a position closer to home at Amberwell Atchison Hospital where I started out on the Medsurg floor as a charge nurse. In spring 2019 I was promoted to House Supervisor but also continue to work as a charge nurse. I recently just transitioned to RN Supervisor of the Surgical Care Clinic at Amberwell Atchison

I am continuing my education and career advancements by obtaining my Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Administration and Leadership. I'm excited and eager to learn and to achieve my career goals in which I couldn't succeed without my family's support.
